Fun, soccer and scorpions

Now some may wonder what those have in common......just one thing actually. They all happened in one day.

Yesterday started the first day in weight loss challenge I'm in so I got up at the same time (6am) to get my oldest ready for school. While she was getting ready I took the dog for a walk. Although I am by no means a morning person, it is so beautiful that time of the morning. Anyway......I got the twins up at 9 and that's when the fun really begins. Diapers, feeding and playing. They just amuse me so much with the things they can get into and the things that they like to play with. Laundry baskets for example..who knew? These two fought over a laundry basket, so I gave them a second. Guess what? They fought over it. LOL. But the best part is when they decided to turn them over and try and stand on them. Now you know as well as I do, those things can't handle a lot of stress so I had to take them away. Start the waterworks.

So nap time comes and it's finally breaktime for mom. I heat up some pizza for my lunch and plop down in front of WOW (world of warcraft) and go thru the motions. I finish my lunch and soon after realize that I am falling asleep at the wheel (sort to say). So mom needs a nap.

After my oldest gets home from school, I hop back on WOW for a little while then get the boys up from their nap and finish with WOW. Finally got my first key frag from Slabs (not that we have to have it anymore but hey.) Then it's off to soccer practice.

I love soccer game days but I have to say that practices are an hour and a half of sharp needles in the eye. But it does give me some adult interaction (other than my husband). I walked for a little while during practice but not really long enough.

I get home from practice just in time to help my other (better) half feed the boys and put them to bed. We decided to have a little ice cream and enjoy what is left of his night. He goes to bed at 830 or 9pm. After that it's my favorite part of the day......the quiet time. Husband is in bed, oldest is in bed, twins are in bed, dog is in bed, two cats are winding down. Except for this night....

About 1030pm the youngest cat is playing with something in the floor and I assume that it's just a spider but then the critter ran and I saw that it had a long body. So not a spider. Probably a 5 million legged ugly bug (centipede, millipede). I smoosh it and pick it up with a napkin to take a gander at it. OMG it's a darn scorpion!!! In my house!! Next to my foot!! Gosh darn it, if it's not spiders it's scorpions.

So that was not the end to the night that I wanted. I had the heebie jeebies and felt like things were crawling on me.

This ends this post and I will see you later this evening or early tomorrow.

First run

Well I tried the blogging thing once upon a long time ago but it fell to the wayside. So I thought I would try it again.

But what in the world to blog about? I guess I could blog the daily activities of life with infant twins. Or is 18 months considered toddlers?

Having the boys at the point that I did was basically like starting over in life. I have a 12 year old daughter from a previous marriage and I decided to make drastic changes in my life a few years ago.

I decided after several months of prayers about my job to quit. It was just the right time. And after 6 months of my husband and I trying to concieve we succeeded 12 days after I quit my job. Coincendence? I think not.

I tried for a month after I quit to find a job until I realized I was pregnant and I slacked off. Then my Dr. told me to only work part time...then we found out we were having twins, she told me to forget about a job.

The boys were born 6 weeks early but were pretty much healthy. Just a few minor issues that went away after a week.

Now fast forward 18 months. I have latched, bolted down and locked everything possible. But yet they still find something to get into. Sigh

But anyway, being a Stay At Home mom has been one of the most rewarding jobs I could ever dream of......but now I must go finish dinner.

I will see you tomorrow after the adventures in toddlerhood and the adventures of being a soccer mom as well.
